Has anyone told you how talented you are lately?
In July, we kicked off our second Dauntless art contest, this time themed around the idea of “Squad Goals.” Our favorite Slayer stories over the years have been about times when a squad of friends beat the odds against a formidable Behemoth, so we were excited to see how you’d take this theme and run with it.
When the submissions started pouring in, it was clear you not only embraced the theme of “Squad Goals,” you also made a strong case for ART GOALS.
Meet the Squad
We presented your submissions to our art team here at Phoenix Labs so they had the opportunity to analyze each one with a skillful eye.
You didn’t make it easy, but the team eventually settled on three winners for the “Squad Goals” art contest. Check them out below, in no particular order, and read why the Dauntless art team picked each one!
“The characters’ facial expressions really stand out here, and the colours are vibrant. This piece went all-out on the cosmetics, which all look fantastic. Integrating the in-game emojis was a nice touch, and we’re in love with pike Slayer’s hairstyle!"
“We love the colour palette and the story this piece tells of what a group of friends that slay together do in their downtime … but with an ominous twist. The poses are natural and the props are nicely drawn. The whole scene has a lot of depth and detail, and we notice something new each time we look at it."
“We like the unique heavy line art direction of this piece. It's got a great realistic victory story of how much work it took these players to defeat Thrax. We also love seeing all the potions on the ground and the tattered fabric on the armour."
