This patch will push your skills to their pixel-perfect limits thanks to major improvements to collision and dodging. New chain blade models, bug fixes, and improvements to the login process round out this patch.

FOCUS: COLLISION UPDATES

Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dodge

Improvements to dodging reliability and functionality based on community feedback.

Slayers will now more reliably dodge through and away from Behemoths, even in close range.

This will allow for tighter combat and promote combat mastery.

IDSPISPOPD

Collision mapping around players is now tighter and improved.

Body movements and staggers have also been modified.

These changes will improve movement around Behemoths and Behemoth attacks, allowing for closer combat and better predictability when getting hit.

Additionally, it will reduce frustration around player-on-player collision.

Aetherclean™ Removes Sticky Messes!

Resolves issues causing Slayers to “stick” to Behemoths, Behemoth attacks, and other Slayers.

This will reduce frustration with dodging and evasion, and improve coordinated team attacks.

WEAPONS AND ARMOUR

Shrike Blue Armour

Blades of Glory

New Shrike Chain Blades model added.

Improved Chain Blade pull reliability. Backflips still look rad.

(Edit: Backflips were previously noted as being sweet. Upon further investigation, they are rad.)

Careful With That Axe, Eugene

Fixed bugs related to Axe strikes and charges not hitting when in range.

Fixed bugs related to Axe charge VFX staying on screen after striking.

BALANCE IMPROVEMENTS

Pump Up The Jam

Tuned various Behemoth attack damage, frequency and collision.

Tuned some armor resistance and Behemoth damage values.

Protect Your Neck

Balanced health granted when reviving teammates multiple times.

Increased delays and the reduced maximum value granted when using Fortress.

Flame Off

Fire damage will no longer apply to players if they are in the invulnerability-frames of a dodge.

Drop it Like it’s Hot

Increased drop rates for uncommon catalysts.

Fixed gatherables sometimes not dropping in the correct biomes.

BUG FIXES

Various performance updates and fixes for Ramsgate.

Pop That Collar

Fixed recipes, required ingredients, and costs for Archonite armour pieces.

Ice to Meet You

Players can no longer interact while frozen. Getting frozen cancels any active interaction.

Later Sk8r

Fixed a bug where upgrading armour pieces to tier 7 or 8 would revert them back to tier 5.

QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS

Login Lumberjacks

Players will now only need to log in once!

Sick Flow Bro

Resolved bugs which would prevent players from completing quests due to items not being granted.

The Final Countdown

Adjusted timing, presentation, and audio for the End of Match sequence.

Good As New

Fixed bugs that affected the appearance of the Borrowed Sword.

Guildilocks

Updated guild UI to notify players that guild creation consumes guild charters.

Added messaging to guild creation which indicates the maximum number of characters available in guild name plates.

New Charrogg Look, Same Charrogg Flavour!

Added and improved animations and VFX on Charrogg.

Can You Hear Me Now?

Added new sounds for the healing pylon and overshield ability.

  • Slayers will now see the name of the hunt they are embarking on when leaving the city.
  • Fixed the naming for trophy flares.
  • Fixed the naming of lanterns for top tier Behemoths.
  • Adjusted aether colour values for several Behemoth materials.
  • Edited and updated quest text and dialogue.
  • Updated audio effects and music on various Behemoths.
  • Tuned and smoothed weapon animations and turns.
  • Players will now sheath their weapons when using emotes or planting their banner.

CLOSED BETA - KNOWN ISSUES

We’ve been hard at work squashing bugs and making improvements to Dauntless. Thank you to everyone for their patience and continued support! Your feedback has been instrumental in helping us track down and resolve these issues.

We believe we’ve found and fixed all progression-blocking bugs but please contact [email protected] if you are stuck because of a quest that will not complete or if you are still affected by armour pieces reverting to tier 5.

We’re continuing to optimize and improve performance, especially in Ramsgate. If your game is crashing while joining or while in Ramsgate, please try lowering your graphic settings (especially resolution).

Do not log into Dauntless from multiple places at the same time. It will lead to account data corruption.

Menus, icons, and controller support are a continued work in progress. Please use a mouse and keyboard where a controller is not fully supported.

Guild Chat may stop working when returning from a hunt. It should start working if you log out and log back in.

Collecting Aether Wisps will not charge lanterns.

Lightening bolts may not hit/collide with turrets after being reflected by the player during a Nayzaga hunt.

Behemoths may occasionally walk in irregular patterns. Fix this by slaying them.

UPDATE:

Gnasher Chainblades will not connect on any hits. While we look into this, please use a different set of chainblades on your hunts.
